AECOM Secures $225M Environmental Remediation Contract from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

AECOM, the trusted global infrastructure leader, has been awarded a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Kansas City District. With a contract ceiling of $225 million, the company will continue to support environmental A-E remediation services across USACE’s Northwestern Division and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 2.

The contract’s focus is to address environmental contamination, protect public health, and promote sustainability through the use of green technologies.

“We’re proud to build on more than 100 years of experience delivering diverse infrastructure and environmental solutions for USACE sites around the world,” said Karl Jensen, executive vice president of AECOM’s National Governments business. “Our proven track record as a trusted partner on large-scale remediation programs for U.S. federal clients will bolster our team’s ability to support USACE environmental cleanup objectives aimed at preserving public wellbeing and safety.”

AECOM’s scope of work includes site and remedial investigations, feasibility studies for PFAS and other contaminants, remedial design, chemical sampling and testing, groundwater modeling, engineering during construction, and community/stakeholder engagement. These services reflect the company’s expertise in tackling complex remediation challenges.

“As an industry leader in environmental engineering and design, our teams are at the forefront of addressing pressing remediation challenges,” said Dawn Swider, regional Environment business line leader for AECOM’s U.S. West region. “Our passionate, skilled environmental professionals combine deep knowledge of regulatory practices and technical innovations with local expertise.”

AECOM will also collaborate with three specialty small businesses, including HUBZone-certified FPM Remediations, Inc., a firm AECOM has partnered with for over 20 years and is currently mentoring through a U.S. SBA mentor-protégé agreement.
