AECOM Achieves Bronze Certification in Canada’s PAIR Program for Indigenous Relations

Toronto, Canada — September 2025 — AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, has achieved Bronze Level Certification in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB).

The PAIR program is Canada’s premier corporate certification for Indigenous relations, guiding organizations to foster respectful, sustainable, and measurable partnerships. It is structured around four pillars: Leadership Actions, Employment, Business Development (Procurement), and Community Relationships (Engagement & Support).

Achieving Bronze certification in the PAIR program is a meaningful milestone that reflects our commitment to fostering respectful, long-lasting partnerships with Indigenous communities,” said Richard Barrett, chief executive of AECOM’s Canada region. “This recognition affirms the progress we’ve made and motivates us to continue advancing Indigenous reconciliation across our operations in Canada.”

AECOM’s certification follows a six-year journey of advancing Indigenous relations. Key initiatives included launching cultural awareness and land-based training, developing the Blooming Program for Indigenous youth, creating an annual Indigenous Procurement Summit, and implementing both an Indigenous Relations Policy and Indigenous Procurement Policy.

Marcel Pelletier, vice president of Indigenous Relations for AECOM Canada, emphasized, “Reconciliation is not a destination, but an ongoing journey. This achievement marks a transformative moment for our company—one that will have a lasting impact.

For AECOM’s clients and Indigenous communities, the certification signals that the company is a responsible, inclusive partner dedicated to advancing reconciliation through meaningful engagement, employment, and long-term collaboration.
