AECOM Named Delivery Partner for Brisbane 2032 Games

AECOM has been appointed as the official Delivery Partner for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as part of the Unite32 joint venture with Laing O’Rourke. The appointment was made by the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) and positions the joint venture at the center of one of Australia’s largest and most complex infrastructure programs.

Under the agreement, Unite32 will be responsible for delivering close to US$5 billion (AU$7.1 billion) worth of critical venue and infrastructure projects that will support the Games and generate long-term benefits for communities across Queensland.

The Unite32 joint venture combines AECOM’s global expertise in planning, design, and program management with Laing O’Rourke’s construction delivery capabilities. Together, the partners bring decades of experience delivering Olympic and Paralympic Games infrastructure, with involvement in every Games program since London 2012.

AECOM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Troy Rudd said the appointment reflects the company’s strong track record in managing complex, multi-billion-dollar programs for major global events. He noted that the focus extends beyond hosting elite sport to creating infrastructure that shapes cities and delivers enduring social and economic value.

Formed more than two years ago, Unite32 brings together senior specialists from across AECOM and Laing O’Rourke’s global operations. The consortium is uniquely positioned to manage the multi-site Brisbane 2032 Venues Infrastructure Program, ensuring efficient delivery, strong governance, and long-term legacy outcomes.

AECOM’s long-standing presence in Queensland, dating back to 1957, further strengthens its role in the program. The company is already engaged in several major infrastructure projects across the state, providing deep insight into local conditions, supply chains, and stakeholder requirements.

With a global portfolio that includes the design and delivery of more than 150 stadiums and arenas, AECOM continues to be a trusted partner for world-class sports infrastructure. The Brisbane 2032 appointment reinforces its role in transforming major international events into lasting opportunities for cities and communities.
