CoreWeave Joins DOE Genesis Mission to Advance AI

CoreWeave has joined the U.S. Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission, a national initiative aimed at accelerating scientific discovery, strengthening national security, and advancing energy innovation through the integration of advanced computing and artificial intelligence.

The Genesis Mission brings together leading U.S. scientific institutions, supercomputing centers, AI platforms, and technology providers to connect large-scale datasets, experimental research facilities, and next-generation compute resources. The initiative is designed to enhance the productivity and impact of American research by enabling scientists and engineers to develop, train, and deploy advanced AI systems with greater speed, efficiency, and reliability.

As part of its participation, CoreWeave will make its purpose-built AI cloud platform available to support advanced scientific workloads. The platform is engineered to deliver predictable performance and resilience across multiple generations of hardware, helping research teams shorten the time from concept to real-world impact.

Michael Intrator, Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of CoreWeave, said the Genesis Mission reflects a critical national commitment to reinforcing U.S. leadership in research and innovation. He noted that CoreWeave is proud to provide a secure, high-performance AI cloud platform that enables researchers to focus on transformative breakthroughs.

CoreWeave’s involvement in the Genesis Mission builds on its growing engagement with public sector initiatives. Earlier this year, the company launched CoreWeave Federal, a dedicated business unit focused on delivering secure, compliant, and high-performance AI cloud services to U.S. government agencies and the Defense Industrial Base. The platform is being prepared to meet evolving federal requirements, including FedRAMP and other authorizations that support large-scale AI training and deployment.

With extensive experience operating large-scale AI infrastructure for both commercial and public sector customers, strengthened by its acquisition of Weights and Biases, CoreWeave continues to expand its role in national research and innovation efforts through infrastructure investment, policy engagement, and an increasing presence in Washington, DC.
