Corgan FOX Architects Acquisition Expands Influence

April 2026 — Corgan has acquired FOX Architects, expanding its footprint in Washington, D.C.. The deal supports Corgan’s strategy to grow its presence in key U.S. markets.

Strengthening Regional Presence

Corgan, an 87-year-old global firm, operates across the U.S., U.K., Dublin, and Singapore. It employs more than 1,200 people. Notably, the firm opened its Washington, D.C. office in 2024.

Now, with this acquisition, Corgan aims to deepen its impact in the region.

“Together, we are strengthening our presence in D.C.,” said CEO Scott Ruch. He added that the move will advance design across civic, cultural, and business sectors.


Expanding Design Capabilities

Founded in 2003, FOX Architects has built a strong reputation in commercial architecture and interiors. The firm focuses on workplace, government, and repositioning projects.

According to managing principal Derek Wood, the acquisition marks a major step forward. He noted that the partnership will expand project scale and access to global expertise.

Additionally, he emphasized that both firms share similar design values and culture. This alignment will support continued client-focused delivery.


Part of a Broader Growth Strategy

This deal follows a series of East Coast acquisitions by Corgan. Previously, the firm acquired Cooper Robertson in New York and Dyer Brown & Associates in Boston.

Moreover, Corgan continues to grow its leadership in specialized sectors. In 2025, it ranked as the top-earning architecture firm in the data center industry. The firm generated $213 million in data center revenue in 2024.

Corgan expects the FOX Architects acquisition to accelerate regional growth. Furthermore, it will strengthen market presence in Washington, D.C.

As a result, the firm is positioning itself for continued expansion across key urban markets.
