Paris, France – Eiffage has entered into exclusive negotiations with Swiss energy company BKW regarding the potential sale of its majority stake in Volterres, a subsidiary focused on renewable energy and electricity supply.
The negotiations are being conducted through Sun’R, Eiffage’s renewable energy subsidiary, which currently holds 65% of Volterres’ share capital. The proposed transaction would involve the transfer of this stake to BKW as part of the Swiss company’s strategy to expand its activities in the renewable energy and electricity supply market.
Transaction subject to approvals
According to the companies involved, the Eiffage Volterres sale negotiations are still at an early stage and remain subject to several legal and regulatory approvals. In line with legal requirements, employees of the entities concerned will be informed and consulted during the process.
If the agreement proceeds as planned, the transaction is expected to be completed during the first half of 2026.
Strategic move in the energy sector
The potential acquisition would allow BKW to strengthen its presence in the renewable electricity supply market, while enabling Eiffage to streamline its portfolio through its subsidiary Sun’R.
Volterres operates in the renewable electricity supply and energy services sector, supporting businesses and local authorities with energy management solutions linked to renewable power generation.
Further details regarding the structure or financial value of the proposed deal have not yet been disclosed.
