Eiffage, through its Spanish subsidiary Eiffage Construcción, has secured a second major contract to support the development of Madrid’s new urban racing circuit. The company will carry out extension works on Pavilions 1 and 2 at the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre under a design-build contract valued at €68 million.
The project includes the construction of two new buildings to expand the exhibition pavilions and the installation of temporary structures for the stands, logistics area, and VIP sections during the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix. After the race, the temporary facilities will be dismantled, while the extended structures will remain as permanent additions to the exhibition centre.
Each pavilion will be three stories high and 17 meters tall, meeting FIA and Formula One Management standards.
- Ground level: team garages, technical zones and service areas with separate access for personnel and logistics.
- Upper floors: VIP Paddock Club, panoramic terraces, catering areas and guest reception services.
Additional temporary spaces will be built for offices, timekeeping operations, control centers, and logistics facilities. A carbon footprint assessment will guide the environmental management plan, prioritizing low-emission materials, such as recycled steel, low-carbon concrete, and FSC/PEFC-certified timber, along with local sourcing.
This contract reinforces IFEMA Madrid’s trust in Eiffage, following the previous award in April for the design and construction of Madrid’s new Formula 1 urban circuit, worth €83.2 million.
