Ferrovial Recognized as Europe’s Most Sustainable Construction Company by DJSI

Ferrovial has been named for the second consecutive year as the most sustainable company in the Construction and Engineering sector in Europe, according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). This index, compiled annually by S&P Global, is regarded as an international sustainability benchmark and one of the most prestigious in the world.

“Ferrovial delivers road, airport, and energy infrastructure that creates high value for the communities where they are located, contributing to their well-being and socio-economic growth. Our consistent inclusion in DJSI World for more than two decades confirms our unwavering commitment to sustainability, our long-term approach, and the innovative efforts of our teams to increase the positive impact of our operations,” said Ignacio Madridejos, Ferrovial CEO.

This year, Ferrovial has been ranked in second position in the DJSI World, following a comprehensive analysis of its performance across the environmental, social, and economic dimensions. The company has been continuously listed in this index for the past 23 years.

S&P Global highlighted Ferrovial’s risk management practices and internal mechanisms that ensure effective implementation of its code of conduct. Additionally, the company’s policy on promoting and defending human rights was recognized.

Sustainability as a Pillar

Ferrovial is featured in leading sustainability indices such as CDP, ISS ESG, Moody’s, Sustainalytics, and GRESB, emphasizing its best practices in sustainability. The company is advancing its 2030 Sustainability Strategy, which is structured around three key pillars: environment, community, and governance. This commitment led Ferrovial to become the first company to obtain AENOR certification for its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
