Fluor Wins Role in $3.5 Billion Defense Threat Reduction Contract

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced that it has been awarded a position on the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) Cooperative Threat Reduction Integrating Contract (CTRIC) IV, an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract valued at up to $3.5 billion over a 10-year period.

Fluor is among six companies selected to compete for task orders that will support the U.S. Department of Defense’s mission to reduce and counter chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats in collaboration with partner nations.

“This award builds on our more than 100-year history of providing services to U.S. government and commercial clients, often in some of the toughest and most remote environments in the world,” said Al Collins, Group President of Fluor’s Mission Solutions business. “The contract’s scope of work fits well with what we do best – managing, integrating, and executing complex projects and large teams globally to deliver high-quality results and rapid responses to contingency operations. We look forward to supporting DTRA’s critical mission to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction and related technologies.”

Under CTRIC IV, Fluor will provide a wide range of technical, engineering, and operational services to enhance global threat reduction capabilities. These efforts include project management, infrastructure development, logistics, training, and rapid response operations in support of international non-proliferation and counter-WMD initiatives.

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency plays a pivotal role in helping the U.S. Department of Defense and its allies detect, deter, and counter emerging WMD and global security threats.
