Paris, France – Geoclay, a forward-thinking company specializing in low-carbon solutions, has been selected to take part in the Quartiers Métropolitains d’Innovation (Metropolitan Innovation Districts) program—Europe’s largest urban experimentation initiative, backed by the Greater Paris Metropolis. This selection marks a significant step for the company as it works to address key urban challenges in collaboration with municipalities, local authorities, startups, SMEs, associations, and residents across the region.
Launched in November 2022, the Quartiers Métropolitains d’Innovation program aims to bring together innovative minds and public institutions to co-develop practical solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing modern cities. These include adapting to climate change, promoting a circular economy, improving urban mobility, and revitalizing public spaces. The initiative was first rolled out in the municipalities of Aulnay-sous-Bois, Meudon, Noisy-le-Grand, and Sceaux, where 30 pilot projects were implemented with considerable success. Encouraged by these results, the Greater Paris Metropolis expanded the program to six new municipalities: Athis-Mons, Aubervilliers, Fontenay-sous-Bois, Sucy-en-Brie, Issy-les-Moulineaux, and Argenteuil.
Geoclay’s involvement in the second phase of the program reinforces its growing reputation for innovation in sustainable urban development. Working closely with Paris&Co and local government bodies, the company will identify strategic testing grounds where its technologies can be applied. Through these collaborations, Geoclay aims to demonstrate the impact and scalability of its solutions while contributing meaningfully to the cities’ long-term sustainability goals. Participating municipalities will benefit from 18 months of intensive support, including legal assistance, territorial diagnostics, training, and tools for evaluating the social and environmental impact of the projects.
The selection of Geoclay highlights the Greater Paris Metropolis’ firm commitment to fostering innovation through meaningful public-private partnerships. As the metropolitan region looks ahead to a more resilient and inclusive urban future, programs like this aim not only to solve current urban challenges but also to cultivate a lasting culture of experimentation and sustainability. For Geoclay, it’s an opportunity to help shape the smart cities of tomorrow and contribute to a greener future for over 7.2 million residents.
