Gold and Silver status: Nadcap audits of surface treatment technology at Liebherr-Aerospace

The successful Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) audits regarding the recertification of chemical processes took place at Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH and Liebherr Aerospace Brasil LTDA in Guaratinguetá.

During the audits, an independent organization, the Performance Review Institute (PRI), evaluates manufacturing processes based on an industry-agreed checklist. PRI compiles a report and forwards it to an industry task group for review and approval. Upon a positive vote, PRI issues the Nadcap accreditation.

“We have not only achieved the targets we set ourselves but also set new standards,” said Martin Wandel, Chief Operating Officer at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS. “With this result, we have achieved Nadcap Gold Status in Lindenberg, extending the audit interval to 24 months. Additionally, we extended the Silver Status in Guaratinguetá, associated with an 18-month audit interval. These are excellent results, and our teams can be proud of.”

For the two Liebherr sites in Lindenberg and Guaratinguetá, the Nadcap certification process serves as an opportunity and incentive for further development. As PRI conducts the review and assessment objectively and transparently, Liebherr-Aerospace’s progress toward business excellence is traceable and visible to third parties.
