Hitachi ZW250-7 Wheel Loader Boosts Production at Italian Construction Firm

CarBa strengthens operations with second high-performance Hitachi machine

Italian construction company CarBa srl has expanded its machinery fleet with a second Hitachi ZW250-7 wheel loader, delivered by authorised dealer SCAI at the end of 2024. The new machine plays a pivotal role in aggregate handling for the company’s growing concrete and asphalt production operations at its Soncino (CR) facility.

Specialising in Roadworks

Founded two decades ago, CarBa has built a strong reputation in the roadworks sector, led by CEO Mauro Carminati. In 2024, the company broadened its capabilities by adding asphalt production to complement its existing concrete and steel activities. This strategic expansion called for reliable, efficient machinery to maintain high productivity across its sites.

Efficiency Meets Reliability

CarBa selected the Hitachi ZW250-7 for its versatility, fuel efficiency, and robust performance. “This machine will remain exclusively at the Soncino site, managing aggregates for our batching and asphalt plants,” says Carminati. “It’s a vital all-rounder that ensures smooth and efficient operations.”

Operator-Centric Design for Safer Worksites

The decision to invest in another ZW250-7 was largely influenced by positive operator feedback. Key features such as the multifunction joystick, superior cabin visibility, and intuitive controls support a safer and more comfortable working environment.

One standout feature is Hitachi’s Aerial Angle camera system, offering a 270-degree bird’s-eye view. CarBa further enhanced job site safety with the addition of a rear obstacle detection system — an essential upgrade given the rise in internal traffic at the expanding Soncino site.

“With two plants now in operation, internal traffic has increased. The obstacle detection system was a necessary addition to enhance site safety.”

Performance Upgrades and Workflow Optimization

The newly delivered ZW250-7 includes a larger 3.60m³ bucket, increasing material handling capacity. The integrated payload weighing system ensures accurate load management, reducing fuel consumption and unnecessary trips while optimizing on-site workflow.

“We knew exactly what we were getting with this machine. The ZW250-7 has already proven its reliability, and these new features make it an even more valuable asset for our operations.”
Mauro Carminati

By investing in cutting-edge, operator-focused equipment, CarBa continues to strengthen its operational efficiency and safety standards — positioning itself for continued success in an evolving construction industry.
