Jacobs and Egis Appointed Program Management Consultants

Jacobs, in joint venture with Egis, has been awarded the program management consultant contract by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for the Bradford Bypass, a major new highway project aimed at improving mobility, safety and economic growth across Ontario.

The Bradford Bypass will create a vital east–west transportation link between Highway 404 and Highway 400, running through York Region and Simcoe County. Recognized as one of the province’s priority infrastructure investments, the project is expected to contribute more than $286 million annually to Ontario’s GDP and support over 2,200 jobs each year.

Under the contract, Jacobs will lead a coordinated program management approach focused on safe, high-quality and accelerated delivery. Working alongside Egis, the joint venture will provide program management, design coordination, contract administration, construction inspection, environmental compliance and comprehensive quality oversight. The team will align planning, delivery and long-term performance across all sections of the corridor.

Designed to reduce congestion on local roads and improve travel reliability for commuters, freight operators and regional travelers, the Bradford Bypass will strengthen connections between two of Ontario’s busiest highway corridors. The project is enabled under the province’s Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act and complements other major transportation initiatives, including Highway 413 and the Garden City Skyway bridge-twinning project.

The Jacobs–Egis joint venture will work closely with the MTO, municipal partners, stakeholders and design and construction teams to ensure transparent communication and meaningful public engagement throughout delivery.

Alex Chan, Jacobs Transportation Market Growth Director for Canada, said the appointment reflects Jacobs’ strong transportation leadership and commitment to delivering resilient, high-performing infrastructure that supports sustainable regional growth and long-term community needs.
