Jacobs Partners with NVIDIA to Revolutionize AI Data Center Design with Digital Twin Technology

Jacobs, a global leader in infrastructure and technology services, has announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to optimize and scale the NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint for AI Factories—a powerful framework for designing, simulating, and operating digital twins of AI-driven data centers.

This next-generation blueprint enables the integration of power, cooling, and network systems into a unified, physically accurate digital environment. Jacobs will play a crucial role in refining this workflow, applying its deep expertise to create real-time virtual replicas that support predictive analytics and operational optimization.

Smarter, More Resilient Infrastructure

Digital twins are transforming the infrastructure industry by providing high-fidelity virtual simulations of real-world assets. Jacobs will enhance the Omniverse Blueprint to simulate the efficiency, throughput, and resiliency of data center components. These improvements will help engineers and designers spot potential issues early and streamline operations across the entire facility lifecycle.

“For more than a decade, Jacobs has used digital twin technologies to transform how we design, build, and manage infrastructure,” said Koti Vadlamudi, Jacobs Executive Vice President. “Now, with AI factories, we are creating real-time replicas of critical infrastructure to optimize energy use and ensure a more sustainable future.”

From Portugal to Australia: Global Impact in Action

Jacobs’ portfolio spans a wide range of complex, high-tech infrastructure projects globally, including:

  • SINES DC Campus, Portugal – Delivering a 1.2-gigawatt AI-scale data center powered entirely by renewable energy and cooled using a zero-water system.
  • Xcel Energy, USA – Serving as program manager and owner’s engineer for a multi-billion-dollar transmission and distribution modernization initiative.
  • Central Virginia, USA – Leading the design and construction of a wastewater reuse system for major data centers.
  • Australia – Supporting PsiQuantum with master planning and design services for a utility-scale quantum computing facility.

A Digital Future for Critical Infrastructure

Jacobs’ contribution to the NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint reflects a larger commitment to digital transformation and sustainability. As infrastructure becomes increasingly complex and data-intensive, digital twins are set to become foundational tools in planning and operating AI-scale facilities.

With over $12 billion in annual revenue and a team of 45,000 professionals, Jacobs continues to tackle the world’s toughest challenges—integrating technology, sustainability, and innovation to build a more connected planet.
