Jacobs Selected to Support Major Capital Program at Toronto Pearson Airport

Jacobs has been appointed as the owner’s representative for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority’s (GTAA) LIFT Gateway program, a long-term capital initiative designed to modernize and expand Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada’s largest and busiest aviation hub.

The LIFT program is a core component of Pearson’s long-range infrastructure plan to manage rising passenger volumes and prepare the airport for the next generation of global travel. Passenger demand is projected to reach 65 million annually by the early 2030s, requiring substantial upgrades to facilities, access systems, and terminal capacity.

Under the agreement, Jacobs will deliver program management, construction management, and technical advisory services to guide the expansion of terminal facilities and support GTAA’s mid-term growth strategy.

Heather MacDonald, Jacobs Senior Vice President and Executive Director of Sales Canada, emphasized the significance of the investment, noting that improved infrastructure and smarter access systems will advance sustainability, enhance traveler experience, and position Toronto Pearson for long-term competitiveness. She highlighted Jacobs’ global expertise in airport programs and its role in helping GTAA deliver a modern, future-ready gateway for international travel.

The Pearson LIFT Gateway program represents a major step toward strengthening Toronto Pearson’s role as a central transportation hub for Canada and reinforcing its relevance in the global aviation network.
