Jacobs Strengthens Global Water Collaboration as Foundation Partner of LUOW Network

Jacobs is reinforcing its leadership in the global water sector through its role as Foundation Partner of the Leading Utilities of the World (LUOW) network, an exclusive platform that unites the world’s most innovative and high-performing water and wastewater utilities.

LUOW recognizes utilities that excel in innovation, operational performance, and continuous improvement. To qualify for membership, utilities must demonstrate excellence in at least three of 14 innovation areas, including digital water systems, disaster response, capital project delivery, and energy efficiency. Each new induction expands the network’s reach, fostering knowledge exchange and elevating industry standards across geographies.

Since becoming LUOW’s Foundation Partner in 2017, Jacobs has played a pivotal role in supporting the network’s growth. Through sponsoring international workshops and facilitating peer-to-peer collaboration, Jacobs has enabled water utility leaders to connect at flagship forums such as the Global Water Summit and the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC).

“At Jacobs, we believe in the power of collaboration to solve the water sector’s most pressing challenges,” said Susan Moisio, Jacobs Senior Vice President and Global Water Director. “Our role as LUOW’s Foundation Partner reflects our long-standing commitment to helping clients deliver more resilient and sustainable water services.”

At the 2025 Global Water Summit in Paris, LUOW inducted five new members, raising total membership to 80 globally recognized utilities. Members include leaders such as Singapore PUB, Anglian Water, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, and Yarra Valley Water, each contributing unique perspectives and groundbreaking innovations.

The next LUOW workshop will take place at WEFTEC in Chicago on September 28, 2025, focusing on the vital role of water in supporting AI data centers and industrial development. For the first time, LUOW will also hold an inauguration during the Utility Leaders Afternoon on September 30, further strengthening collaboration within the global water sector.

From driving digital transformation to tackling drought resilience, LUOW members, together with Jacobs, are building a global community of purpose, performance, and progress — reshaping the future of water utilities worldwide.
