Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the global architecture, urban design, and planning firm, has launched KPF50, a year-long global campaign celebrating its 50th anniversary and outlining its vision for the future. Running through 2026, the initiative honors the firm’s legacy while spotlighting ongoing achievements and new strategies for growth and innovation.
Founded in 1976 by Gene Kohn, Bill Pedersen, and Shelley Fox, KPF has grown into a global design practice known for shaping landmark buildings and cities worldwide. The KPF50 campaign reflects on this legacy while engaging clients, collaborators, and communities in conversations about the future of design.
“KPF50 gives us a chance not only to reflect on the past 50 years, but to ask how we will shape buildings and cities in the decades to come,” said James von Klemperer, KPF President. He emphasized that the campaign will actively involve the firm’s global network in advancing ideas on how design can improve cities and communities.
Forth Bagley, KPF Principal, added that KPF50 connects the firm’s history with its ambitions. “This campaign allows us to share the stories, ideas, and collaborations that define KPF, while introducing initiatives that will guide our evolution,” he said.
The KPF50 program includes a wide range of global and digital initiatives. Highlights include a legacy video featuring co-founder Bill Pedersen, an interactive digital history of the firm, and a new film series showcasing KPF’s projects, people, and design philosophy. Weekly social media features will trace the firm’s portfolio from 1976 to today, alongside a special anniversary edition of KPF Review.
The campaign will also see the release of two new books—one exploring architectural photography through KPF’s collaborations and another focused on high-performance design across the firm’s projects. Global celebrations are planned in cities shaped by KPF’s work, alongside announcements on future-focused initiatives.
Through KPF50, the firm aims to celebrate five decades of architectural excellence while setting a clear direction for its next chapter in shaping cities around the world.
