Liebherr and Yuchai Power Strengthen Global Partnership to Develop Advanced Engine Injection Systems
Liebherr and Guangxi Yuchai Power Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand their long-standing partnership, focusing on the development of advanced common rail injection systems for high-performance engines as part of the global energy transition.
The agreement was signed during an official delegation visit by Liebherr’s components product segment to Yuchai Power’s facilities in China. The visit aimed to deepen collaboration and explore new strategic projects in engine and fuel injection technologies.
Focus on High-Performance Engines and Energy Transition
Yuchai Power has significantly strengthened its position across several industrial sectors that rely on large engines, including mining, oil and gas drilling, petroleum fracturing, and construction machinery. To meet the evolving demands of these industries, the company has undertaken a comprehensive modernisation of its engine platforms, enhancing performance, efficiency, and adaptability.
Liebherr, meanwhile, is a global leader in construction machinery, engines, and common rail injection systems, with extensive expertise in vehicle applications and advanced fuel injection technologies for large engines.

Under the newly signed MoU, Liebherr and Yuchai Power will collaborate on:
- Development of next-generation common rail injection systems
- Joint research, development, and testing of fuel injection technologies
- Exploration of alternative fuels aligned with energy transition goals
- Solutions tailored for high-performance diesel engines used in demanding industrial environments
