Liebherr-Australia and Mineco Forge New Partnership with First R 9150 Excavator Delivery

Liebherr-Australia has officially commissioned its first R 9150 excavator for Mineco, marking the beginning of a new partnership and strengthening Liebherr’s presence in the 150-tonne class mining equipment segment in Australia. The machine will be deployed at the Mount Arthur coal mine in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley region.

The delivery represents an important milestone in Liebherr-Australia’s continued expansion and diversification within the Australian mining sector. It also signals Mineco’s growing capabilities and confidence in taking on larger-scale projects through investment in premium machinery.

“Purchasing the R 9150 for Mineco was an easy decision, driven by our commitment to reliability, efficiency, and the future growth of our business,” said Steven Arthur, Director of Mineco. “Liebherr’s equipment is top-class in the industry, empowering us to take on challenging projects with confidence.”

Commitment to Quality and Local Support

With its Mount Thorley branch providing direct support, Liebherr-Australia ensures that Mineco will benefit from local, high-level expertise, fast parts supply, and dedicated field service—maximizing machine uptime and operational efficiency.

“We are thrilled to see Mineco invest in Liebherr and look forward to supporting their operations with reliable equipment and expert service,” said Daniel Simone, Key Account Manager at Liebherr-Australia. “This commissioning underscores our position in the smaller class mining segment, and we’re excited about the future of this partnership in the Hunter Valley.”

Liebherr-Australia prides itself on delivering holistic support solutions, from technical training to on-site maintenance and consultation, helping customers get the most from their machines over the long term.

“Buying a machine from Liebherr is more than a transaction – it’s an investment in quality and long-term success,” Arthur added. “From the very beginning, working with Daniel and the Liebherr team has been exceptional. Their service, expertise, and collaboration have reinforced that this is a lasting partnership built for the future of Mineco.”
