The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers have announced the selection of Turner Construction Company and AECOM Hunt, in a joint venture named PACT+, as the construction managers for their new state-of-the-art arena in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. The new facility is set to open in 2030, coinciding with the debut of the city’s new WNBA team, which will also call the venue home.
The PACT+ joint venture brings together national and local expertise, with Philadelphia-based firms Perryman Construction, Hunter Roberts Construction Group, and Camfred Construction joining Turner and AECOM Hunt. The project will be designed by Populous and Moody Nolan, two of the world’s leading architecture firms in sports and entertainment design.
A Vision for the Future of Philadelphia Sports
“Having Turner and AECOM Hunt on our team is a game-changer as we work to build the most technologically advanced and fan-focused sports and entertainment venue in the world,” said David Adelman, Chairman of the joint venture between the 76ers and Flyers.
“The knowledge this venture brings to the project will ensure we are on the cutting edge of how fans experience live sports and entertainment. This team shares our commitment to authenticity, innovation, and pride in the Philadelphia fan experience.”
Building a Landmark for Generations
“This is more than a construction project—it’s a chance to build something that becomes part of Philadelphia’s fabric for generations,” said Dave Kaminski, Vice President and Senior General Manager for Turner Construction.
“As someone who calls this city home, I couldn’t be prouder that Turner is helping shape a landmark that brings people together and celebrates what makes Philadelphia special.”
“We’re honored to help bring the future of sports and entertainment to South Philly with this next-generation arena,” added Jason Kopp, COO of AECOM Hunt’s Central Region. “Designed to transform the fan experience for decades to come, this venue will feature cutting-edge amenities for athletes, performers, and visitors alike — setting a new benchmark for venue design and construction.”
