PT Superkrane Expands Fleet with Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 for Major Infrastructure Projects in Indonesia

PT Superkrane Mitra Utama Tbk, one of Indonesia’s leading heavy haulage and lifting companies, has strengthened its crane fleet with the addition of a Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane. Featuring a 75-metre telescopic boom, outstanding lifting capacity, and Liebherr’s Variobase® system, the new model is set to support large-scale government and industrial projects beginning in 2026.

“The decision in favour of the LTM 1230-5.1 was based on its technical performance and the specific requirements of a customer project,” said Yafin Tandiono Tan, President Director of PT Superkrane Mitra Utama Tbk. “With its high lifting capacity, exceptional boom length, and versatility, it is the ideal addition to our 5-axle fleet.”

Supporting Long-Term Strategic Projects

PT Superkrane provides comprehensive services in heavy lifting, equipment rental, logistics, and construction. The new 230-tonne crane will be deployed in long-term projects across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, mining, energy, and government-led infrastructure initiatives.

“Our role is to facilitate downstream processes that transform raw materials into high-value products,” Tan noted. “This crane investment enhances our ability to support Indonesia’s national development agenda.”

15 Years of Partnership with Liebherr

Founded in 1996, PT Superkrane has grown into a leading industry player with nearly 400 cranes and over 900 employees. The company purchased its first Liebherr crane in 2010 — an LTM 1200-5.1 — and has continued to expand its fleet with a range of Liebherr crawler and all-terrain cranes.

In addition to technical excellence, PT Superkrane values the high resale value and market acceptance of Liebherr equipment, as well as the manufacturer’s reliable service and support.

With the addition of the LTM 1230-5.1, PT Superkrane is well-positioned to deliver on Indonesia’s growing demand for heavy lifting solutions in complex, large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
