Global energy and infrastructure leader Saipem has announced new offshore drilling contracts and extensions valued at approximately $135 million USD, reinforcing its strategic presence in West Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Far East.
The Santorini, a seventh-generation drillship, will continue operations in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire for Eni Ghana Exploration & Production Limited and Eni Côte d’Ivoire Limited, ensuring project continuity ahead of the next drilling campaign in the Mediterranean Sea.
Meanwhile, the Deep Value Driller, also a seventh-generation drillship managed by Saipem under a bareboat charter agreement, has completed its Ghanaian operations and will soon mobilize to Indonesia for Eni Ganal Deepwater Limited, with work expected to begin by the end of 2025.
Additionally, the Scarabeo 9 semi-submersible rig, which recently concluded a successful drilling campaign in Egypt for Burullus Gas Company, has now commenced operations in Libya under a new contract with Eni North Africa BV, expected to run until early 2026.
In an increasingly competitive global drilling market, Saipem continues to distinguish itself through the reliability and operational strength of its fleet, supporting major international energy projects worldwide.
Saipem remains a leader in engineering and construction for the energy transition, with operations in more than 50 countries and a workforce of around 30,000 people from over 130 nationalities.
