Silence Opens First Battery Swap Stations in France

Silence, the electric vehicle brand of ACCIONA, has officially opened its first fourteen battery swap stations across Paris and the Paris metropolitan area, marking a major step in the company’s European expansion. The rollout will continue with additional stations planned for the French Riviera, including Nice and Cannes, by the end of 2025.

This initiative replicates the successful model Silence has established in Spain, where it operates a network of more than 160 battery swap stations. The stations allow users to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in just 30 seconds, offering a faster and more convenient alternative to traditional vehicle refueling.

Convenient Access Through Strategic Partnerships

Most of Silence’s new battery swap stations in France are located at Esso service stations, following an agreement that leverages Esso’s extensive network for user accessibility. Additional facilities are available at strategic car parks and Silence dealerships throughout Paris.

The company is also launching its battery subscription system in France — a model already operating in Spain. Under this system, customers can purchase a Silence vehicle without the battery, reducing the upfront cost by approximately 30%. The subscription includes 12 battery cycles, equivalent to more than 1,500 km of driving for the NanoCar S04.

A Unified Ecosystem for Two- and Four-Wheeled EVs

Silence remains a pioneer in Europe, offering both two- and four-wheeled electric vehicles powered by a removable trolley-style battery system, ensuring all users can access the same battery-swapping infrastructure.

The Silence S01, Europe’s best-selling electric motorcycle for the past five years, delivers a range of up to 136 km with its 5.6 kWh battery. The S01+ variant achieves speeds close to 120 km/h, outperforming 300cc combustion scooters. The 2025 model introduces upgrades such as an Öhlins rear suspension and custom Shad seat, enhancing comfort and stability.

Meanwhile, the NanoCar S04, distributed in France exclusively through Nissan dealerships, brings Silence’s modular battery concept to compact urban cars. Available in L6e and L7e versions, the vehicle offers ranges between 80 km and 175 km and top speeds of up to 85 km/h, depending on configuration.

All models are designed for agile urban driving, featuring air-conditioned cabins, Bluetooth connectivity, and the MySilence app, which enables keyless entry and real-time battery monitoring.

Driving Sustainable Urban Mobility

With its French expansion, Silence reinforces its mission to transform urban mobility through sustainable, user-friendly, and accessible electric transportation solutions. The combination of battery-swapping convenience, flexible ownership models, and compact, zero-emission vehicles positions Silence as a leader in the evolving electric mobility landscape across Europe.
