Skanska Invests €74M in Final Phase of Poznań Office Project

Skanska has announced a EUR 74 million (SEK 820 million) investment in the fifth and final phase of its flagship Nowy Rynek office complex in Poznań, Poland. The construction contract, valued at approximately PLN 167 million (SEK 440 million), will be included in Skanska’s European order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2025.

The new six-storey building, known as Nowy Rynek C, will provide around 29,000 square meters of gross leasable area and is set to become the first commercial office building in Poland with net zero CO₂ emissions during operation.

Sustainable Innovation and Advanced Technology

Nowy Rynek C will be powered entirely by renewable energy, featuring photovoltaic (PV) systems, and both air and ground-source heat pumps—making it fully independent of Poznań’s municipal heating network. The innovative ground system will include 10 kilometers of drilling, a first-of-its-kind effort in the Polish market.

The project will also integrate AI-enhanced Building Management Systems, automated tilt-opening window panels, and low-carbon construction materials, underscoring Skanska’s commitment to sustainability and smart building innovation.

Leading Certifications and Accessibility

The building is pre-certified for LEED Platinum and WELL, while also pursuing the “Building Without Barriers” certification for accessibility. Its central location and open design ensure the complex remains connected to the local community.

Notably, Nowy Rynek C will be Poland’s first office building equipped with a rooftop terrace designed for drone package delivery, positioning it at the forefront of innovation in workplace infrastructure.

Timeline and Completion

Construction of Nowy Rynek C will begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with completion scheduled for late 2027. Once finished, the Nowy Rynek complex will stand as one of the most sustainable and technologically advanced business destinations in Central Europe.
