Skanska to Build New University Facility for NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, for NOK 750M

Skanska has signed a contract with Statsbygg to construct a new university building for the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. The project, valued at NOK 750 million (about SEK 710 million), will be recorded in Skanska’s Nordic order bookings for the third quarter of 2025.

The six-story, 18,000-square-metre building will house NTNU’s Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management, creating a modern academic environment focused on economics and innovation. It will feature state-of-the-art workspaces for students and staff, specialist classrooms, teaching facilities, and central administrative functions.

A key element of the contract is the construction of a universally accessible bridge connecting the new building to the main campus, enhancing connectivity and accessibility.

Timeline

  • Start of construction: October 2025
  • Completion: December 2027

This project underscores Skanska’s continued role in shaping modern educational infrastructure in Norway while supporting NTNU’s mission to provide cutting-edge academic and research environments.
