TE Connectivity Opens AI Hub in Singapore

TE Connectivity’s Singapore AI Hub recently hosted a two-day collaborative event bringing together Amazon Web Services (AWS) and leading universities in Singapore to co-develop and demonstrate practical artificial intelligence solutions for manufacturing and engineering. The initiative aims to strengthen Singapore’s innovation ecosystem and accelerate the translation of ideas from research labs to factory floors.

The event featured technology insights from researchers at A*STAR and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), alongside Generative AI specialists from TE Connectivity. Students from the National University of Singapore (NUS), NTU, and Singapore Management University (SMU) showcased cutting-edge academic research through poster exhibitions, while AWS conducted hands-on solution demonstrations highlighting real-world AI applications.

A major highlight was the AI Hackathon, where multidisciplinary teams addressed real-world challenges in Generative AI and Engineering AI, applying advanced technologies to solve practical industry problems.

“Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation,” said Rodney Martens, Engineering Fellow and Senior Director at TE’s Singapore Corporate Technology Center. “By building strong bridges with academia, startups, and SMEs, we can co-develop and scale solutions that no single organization can achieve alone, strengthening Singapore’s position as a global AI hub.”

The event successfully met its objectives of fostering collaboration, nurturing AI talent, and accelerating solution development for both TE Connectivity and Singapore’s broader technology ecosystem. Building on this momentum, the TE Singapore AI Hub plans to launch additional initiatives in 2026, focused on advancing people, partnerships, and innovation, in line with TE’s goal to impact 10 million people through STEM education by 2030.
