Turner Construction to Lead Republic FC’s New Stadium Build in the Heart of Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – In a milestone announcement for Sacramento sports and infrastructure, Turner Construction Company has been selected as the lead builder for the new 12,000-seat stadium for Republic FC, set to rise in the downtown Railyards District.

Scheduled to break ground in late summer 2025, this multi-year, community-centered project will go beyond just bricks and mortar—it will become a cornerstone of Sacramento’s cultural, civic, and economic identity.

“What an incredible moment to pause and celebrate what this project means in forward progress and lasting impact for the community we live and work in,” said Drake Costa, Vice President & General Manager, Turner Construction Company. “This stadium is grounded in community, rooted in history, and built for the future of Sacramento.”

Building More Than a Stadium

Turner brings extensive experience in sports facility construction to the project, with a resume that includes:

  • Golden 1 Center (Sacramento)
  • Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara)
  • SoFi Stadium (Inglewood)
  • TQL Stadium (Cincinnati)

With a clear focus on sustainability, fan-first design, and local impact, Turner plans to bring those same principles to the Republic FC stadium build.

A Catalyst for Economic Growth

The project is expected to:

  • Create 1,200+ construction jobs
  • Inject over $240 million into the local economy
  • Host nearly 40 new major events annually, beyond Republic FC matches

The stadium is designed to support sports, concerts, arts, and civic life, positioning it as a new anchor in downtown Sacramento’s revival.

Community-Driven Approach

Turner is working closely with Republic FC and Wilton Rancheria to deliver a venue that:

  • Champions local businesses
  • Supports workforce development initiatives
  • Reflects Sacramento’s diversity and pride

This collaboration ensures the stadium isn’t just built in the community—it’s built with it.

“We’re proud to join with Wilton Rancheria and Republic FC to build a stadium that represents Sacramento’s heart and ambition,” added Costa.

Looking Ahead

Season ticket memberships and premium seating packages will launch later this year, ahead of the stadium’s 2027 grand opening. Fans and residents can look forward to a vibrant downtown venue that honors the city’s past while shaping its future.
