Turner Tops Out Michie Stadium Renovations at West Point

Turner Construction Company has reached a major milestone in the renovation of the historic Michie Stadium at the United States Military Academy, celebrating the topping out of the new east stands.

The topping out — a construction tradition marking the placement of the highest structural element — signals continued progress in the transformation of the 36,000-seat stadium, which has been home to the Army Black Knights for 101 years.

Modernization & Fan Experience

The upgraded east stands will feature:

  • Enhanced game-day experience
  • Full 360-degree views of the field and the Hudson Valley
  • Modern amenities to complement the stadium’s historic legacy

Maintaining Operations

“Our team has developed and implemented a comprehensive logistics plan to ensure Michie Stadium remains operational for football and lacrosse throughout construction,” said Luigi Morfea, Construction Executive at Turner. “It’s a privilege to help preserve the legacy of this stadium while delivering modern amenities for future generations of fans.”

Timeline

The project is on track for completion in 2026, ahead of that year’s football season.
