Two Liebherr R 9350 Excavators Delivered to Kascco in Zambia

Zambia — September 2025 — Liebherr Zambia has successfully delivered two R 9350 mining excavators to Kascco Ltd, one of the largest mining contractors in the country. The deliveries mark a significant milestone in the partnership between the two companies, with the R 9350s now standing as the largest mining excavators in Kascco’s fleet.

The first R 9350, a 300-tonne machine, was commissioned in April 2025, followed by the second in August at Sentinel Copper Mine, part of First Quantum Minerals’ Trident Project in north-western Zambia. The new excavators join Kascco’s existing fleet of Liebherr equipment, which already includes 15 T 284 mining trucks, 2 R 9250 excavators, and 2 R 9100 excavators.

A handover ceremony was held at the Sentinel mine in late August to celebrate the delivery, attended by representatives from both Liebherr Zambia and Kascco.

“The addition of these excavators marks a significant milestone for Kascco, as we firmly believe the Liebherr R 9350 will be a transformative asset in enhancing productivity, reliability, and overall efficiency across our mining operations,” said Omar Fakir, Operations Director at Kascco.

Comprehensive On-Site Support

The Liebherr Zambia team managed the delivery and will provide technical support from its Kalumbila satellite site, ensuring that Kascco maximises performance from the new machines. Embedded technicians will also be stationed on-site for expert assistance and maintenance.

“We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Kascco and to showcase the performance of Liebherr’s mining equipment with these two new R 9350s,” said Sebastien Tomasina, Managing Director of Operations, Liebherr Zambia Ltd.

This delivery represents a major step for Liebherr’s mining product segment in Zambia, expanding its role from construction equipment to large-scale mining machinery, while reinforcing a long-term partnership with Kascco.
