VINCI Construction Secures Major Transport Infrastructure Contracts in Czech Republic

VINCI Construction has been awarded two significant transport infrastructure contracts by the Czech Ministry of Transport, with a total contract value of €417 million. These projects are pivotal for enhancing the country’s transport network.

  1. Eastern Section of the Prague Ring Road
Eurovia CZ and Stavby mostů, two Czech subsidiaries of VINCI Construction, alongside Austrian group PORR, will jointly build a 12.6 km section of the Prague Ring Road to the east of the capital. This new stretch will ease through traffic and improve connectivity within the city. The €385 million project, slated to begin in the first quarter of 2025, is expected to be completed by 2027. Key elements of the works include the construction of 19 bridges, two tunnels, four level crossings, pedestrian and cyclist bridges, and noise barriers.
  2. Modernisation of Česká Třebová Rail Hub
In Česká Třebová, located in Bohemia, Eurovia CZ will lead a consortium to modernise the rail hub at Central Europe’s largest freight station. The €663 million project, starting in the first quarter of 2025 and concluding in 2032, involves refurbishing existing tracks and integrating the European Train Control System (ETCS). To minimise environmental impact, materials will be transported by rail throughout the construction process.

These projects are part of VINCI Construction’s long-standing presence in the Czech Republic, where it generated over €1 billion in revenue in 2023. VINCI Group’s activities in the country also extend to VINCI Energies, which builds electrical infrastructure, and VINCI Concessions, which operates the public-private partnership for the D4 motorway (Via Salis).
