Liebherr-Africa Marks 100th Excavator Bucket Milestone

Liebherr-Africa recently celebrated a significant achievement with the production of its 100th excavator bucket, crafted at the company’s Springs, South Africa facility. The milestone bucket, with a capacity of 19m³, was mounted on an R 9400 excavator and delivered to Tharisa Minerals, a long-term partner operating in platinum and chrome mining.

Customized Solutions for Local Needs

Since 2017, Liebherr-Africa’s 17-person fabrication team has been manufacturing and customizing excavator buckets to meet the unique needs of local customers. Demand for new machines, buckets, and bucket repairs has surged in recent years, and the team has successfully met these challenges with skill and dedication.

The fabrication department recently received the highest rating in Liebherr Mining’s Service Excellence Program, an internal initiative aimed at optimizing and standardizing best practices across Liebherr’s global network.
