Eco Material Opening Queens Terminal to Bring 50,000 Tons of Low Carbon Cement Replacement Products Into New York City Metro Annually

Eco Material Technologies (“Eco Material” or the “Company”), the leading producer, marketer and distributor of supplementary cementitious materials (“SCMs”) and producer of green cement products in North America, announced today the opening of the Blissville Rail Terminal in Queens, New York. This new terminal will enable Eco Material to supply sustainable cement alternatives to the New York metro area, supporting the region’s growing construction needs.

This marks Eco Material’s first major presence in the city, allowing the Company to distribute approximately 50,000 tons of harvested fly ash annually from its national network to support local infrastructure projects. The terminal will utilize rail transportation, including New York & Atlantic’s (NYA) local infrastructure, to efficiently deliver fly ash and sustainable cementitious materials to one of the nation’s largest construction markets. These materials can replace up to 25% of carbon-intensive portland cement in standard concrete mixes, with Eco Material’s proprietary technologies allowing for up to 100% replacement in select applications.

“The opening of the Blissville Terminal reinforces Eco Material’s leadership in sustainable innovation and a major step in our efforts to expand access to low-carbon cement alternatives in all major metro areas,” said Grant Quasha, CEO of Eco Material Technologies. “By strengthening our presence in New York, we can better serve future infrastructure projects with innovative materials that reduce reliance on traditional portland cement and imported steel slag. Utilizing rail transportation streamlines delivery and aligns with our mission to advance sustainable solutions for the construction industry.”

The Blissville Terminal, which will be operated by Precision Terminal Logistics, LLC (PTL) in partnership with Eco Material, is part of Eco Material’s expanding network of facilities designed to supply over 10 million tons of environmentally beneficial materials annually, contributing to the decarbonization of the North American concrete market. The terminal incorporates Eco Material’s suite of technologies, ensuring that all materials meet the highest quality standards while minimizing environmental impact and processing costs. Much of the material will be sourced from Eco Materials’ landfill harvesting projects including its Danville, Pennsylvania facility.

“Eco Materials and PTL have been working on developing this rail transload site in New York on rail lines operated by NYA for several years. PTL is honored to have been selected to work as an extension of ECO Materials, providing best-in-class transload operations at the Blissville transload terminal,” said Jason Hodge, Vice President of Commercial Development, Precision Terminal Logistics. “PTL is excited for the opportunity to grow with ECO Materials and their customers by delivering this rail transload solution. We are also excited about the opportunity to help provide much-needed rail-based transload and logistics services to the New York market.”

“Partnering with Eco Material on this project allows us to leverage our extensive rail infrastructure to deliver materials to market efficiently,” said Marlon Taylor, President, New York & Atlantic Railway. “This approach reduces truck traffic, emissions, and wear and tear on our roadways while streamlining supply chains and supporting sustainable building practices in a key metropolitan area.”

The facility is expected to quickly reach full capacity, driven by strong regional demand for fly ash and sustainable cement alternatives.

The opening will be celebrated with a grand opening event on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. More information on the event and Blissville Terminal can be found at ecomaterial.com.

About Eco Material Technologies

Eco Material is the leading producer, marketer and distributor of ash-based SCM products in North America. Eco Material is also the leading environmentally focused, near-zero carbon cement producer in the United States. SCMs are the most impactful, environmentally friendly alternative materials to portland cement that significantly reduce the CO2 footprint and improve the performance and longevity of cement’s end-product, concrete. Coal ash and volcanic ash are used to replace a portion of highly polluting portland cement in concrete and can be further upgraded to its higher performance Green Cement products by the Company. Eco Material also supplies services to electric utilities related to management of coal ash and other coal combustion products and recycles over 10 million tons per year of material into beneficial use – reducing emissions and avoiding landfilling of material.
