Comprehensive Inspections & Data Insights Fuel Airservices Australia’s Strategic Growth
Jacobs has successfully completed the Asset Data Capture & Site Investigation program for Airservices Australia, marking a significant achievement in aviation infrastructure assessment, safety, and digital asset management.
Over the course of a 14-week, nationwide campaign, Jacobs’ multidisciplinary team traversed more than 87,426 miles (140,700 kilometers) across 33 airport sites, from the rugged Pilbara to the tropical shores of Hamilton Island and the icy terrain of Tasmania. The mission: to ensure safety-first execution while delivering high-quality, actionable data.
“At the start of this program, we asked ourselves what success would look like. Our top two answers were ensuring the safety of all team members and stakeholders, and collecting high-quality data — and we successfully achieved both,”
— Sam Scargill, Jacobs Project Manager & Team Lead
Safety & Precision: Pillars of Project Execution
With BeyondZero values guiding every step, the project leadership implemented robust safety strategies using scenario planning and digital risk management tools. A dedicated HSE lead and travel coordinator were instrumental in mitigating fatigue and managing the demanding schedule—ensuring the project remained incident-free and on time.
Data That Drives Resilience & Sustainability
Jacobs deployed its advanced Asset Condition Evaluation System (ACES) to inspect and analyze over 11,000 individual assets across 45 control towers and facilities. The resulting data was integrated into Jacobs’ Asset Sustainability Investment model, allowing Airservices Australia to prioritize key remediation efforts that align with their sustainable growth strategy.
“A massive shout-out to the Jacobs team for the amazing effort that has gone into this work! It’s a great demonstration of the strong partnership between Airservices Australia and Jacobs,”
— Tracey Rosewall, Head of Facilities and Property, Airservices Australia
