Jacobs Partners with PsiQuantum to Develop New Quantum Computing Facility in Chicago

Jacobs (NYSE: J) has been selected by PsiQuantum, a global leader in quantum computing, to serve as the Owner’s Representative for its new quantum computing facility at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park. The project marks a major step toward the development of the first utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer in the United States.

Construction Progress & Project Vision

The groundbreaking took place in September, launching the initial phase of site development. PsiQuantum plans to build an intermediate-scale test system to validate quantum architecture and performance. Once successful, further construction phases will begin to deliver a fully operational utility-scale quantum computer.

Jacobs President of Global Operations, Patrick Hill, stated:

  • Australia (Brisbane): Master planning and design for another major quantum computing facility
  • California: Test and assembly facilities integrating R&D insights for both Chicago and Brisbane projects
