Jacobs Secures 10-Year Contract to Operate Jackson, Mississippi, Water Treatment System

Jacobs has been awarded a long-term 10-year contract by JXN Water to operate and maintain the water treatment system in Jackson, Mississippi. This decision follows the success of a short-term operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement that significantly improved water reliability for nearly 180,000 residents in and around the city.

Scope of Work

Under this contract, Jacobs will continue overseeing the O.B. Curtis and J.H. Fewell water treatment plants, along with:

  • Groundwater well systems
  • Booster stations
  • Water storage tanks

Addressing Jackson’s Water Challenges

Jackson has faced persistent water infrastructure issues, including supply disruptions and quality concerns. Greg Fischer, Executive Vice President at Jacobs, emphasized the company’s commitment:

“We believe everyone should have access to clean water and understand the great responsibility of maintaining critical infrastructure. We’ll continue working with JXN Water to enhance system efficiency and ensure a reliable water supply for the community.”

Since early 2023, Jacobs has:

  • Supported planning and design of capital projects aimed at long-term system stabilization.

Moving forward, Jacobs will:
