Ternat, Belgium — Van der Spek strengthens its sustainable construction solutions with the acquisition of nine mobile Liebherr energy storage systems of the LPO 100 type. These systems provide a low-emission, quiet, and reliable alternative to diesel generators, supporting tower crane operations and other applications where grid capacity is limited.
Several units are already in operation on regional construction sites, while others are available for rental. Each system offers 94 kWh of energy and up to 110 kVA peak output, ensuring stable and cost-efficient power for cranes like the Liebherr 550 EC-H. “Urban areas increasingly restrict diesel generators due to noise and emission rules,” said Erik van Audenrode, sales director at Van der Spek. “Our mobile Liebherr energy storage systems provide the sustainable and efficient solution construction companies need.”
Construction company Schoukensbouw is using two systems in Tubize, demonstrating their ability to handle energy peaks silently and without CO₂ emissions. Beyond construction, Van der Spek envisions applications in event technology, emergency power supply, and the military sector.
In 2026, Van der Spek plans to expand its mobile Liebherr energy storage systems portfolio and services, further cementing its role as a leader in sustainable energy solutions for the Belgian construction industry.
