Bouygues Construction and Innodura Partner to Advance Robotics in Construction

Bouygues Construction has entered a major strategic partnership with Innodura to accelerate the development and deployment of robotics across construction sites, aiming to improve productivity, safety, and the overall appeal of the industry to younger workers.

Innodura, a Lyon-based robotics and AI company founded 13 years ago, specializes in advanced computer vision and real-time adaptive robotic systems. Its technology enables robotic arms equipped with 3D cameras to understand their surroundings and adjust movement with high precision. This serves as the robot’s “brain,” combining 3D perception with AI-based decision-making.

Bouygues Construction and Innodura have already collaborated for more than four years on automation programs focused on real-world site applications. These include robots capable of performing complex tasks, operating in tight spaces, and supporting workers with repetitive or physically demanding activities. Among the tested solutions are an inspection robot designed for confined areas such as tunnels and nuclear facilities, and a drilling robot that supports thermal insulation installation, helping accelerate large-scale energy-efficiency upgrades.

The shared goal is to reduce physical strain on workers, enhance operational performance, and attract new talent by bringing modern, efficient tools to construction sites.

As part of the partnership, Bouygues Construction and Innodura will create a dedicated multidisciplinary team focused entirely on robotic development for construction. A new construction lab will also be established at Innodura, linked directly to the Scale One innovation platform, allowing rapid design, testing, and deployment of robotic solutions in real-world conditions.

Jean-Philippe Trin, Deputy CEO of Bouygues Construction, said:
“This partnership marks a key step in our strategy of useful innovation. The technologies developed with Innodura will accelerate the intelligent robotisation of our sites, improving performance, safety, and the attractiveness of our industry.”

Maxime Robin, CEO of Innodura, added:
“This collaboration reflects a strong commitment to French innovation. By combining our expertise, we will be able to quickly design, test, and deploy intelligent robotic solutions that meet the real needs of construction sites.”

Scale One, the shared innovation hub for the construction sector, will play a central role in advancing the partnership’s work, enabling teams to develop and verify technologies under true site conditions.
