Mott MacDonald has reinforced its UK water delivery capability with the appointment of four senior leaders to newly created technical delivery director roles, a move aimed at enhancing governance, efficiency, and programme outcomes for clients during AMP8 and beyond.
The new appointees are Richard Walton, former head of project engineering at United Utilities; Galo Pinto, who led AECOM’s operational water engineering team; Nick Lowe, previously head of technical and non-infrastructure design at Wessex Water; and Duncan Gracie, formerly water strategy and growth director at AECOM. All four have joined Mott MacDonald’s UK water business.
The appointments come as the UK water sector enters a generational investment cycle, with utilities accelerating major programmes to improve resilience, water quality, customer service, and environmental performance. Mott MacDonald said the expanded technical delivery leadership will support clients in meeting demanding regulatory milestones, while managing cost, risk, and complexity across large multidisciplinary portfolios.
Tim Hill, general manager of Mott MacDonald’s UK water and environment business, said the new roles reflect the firm’s commitment to supporting clients through the challenges of AMP8.
“Our clients face unprecedented delivery demands under AMP8,” Hill said. “This investment in technical delivery directors reinforces our promise to bring the right senior expertise to the front line of programme delivery, ensuring schedules are maintained, risks are managed, and benefits are realised.
“Richard, Galo, Nick and Duncan bring deep sector experience and a strong track record of leading complex teams. Their focus is simple: helping our clients deliver outcomes faster and with confidence.”
Mott MacDonald said the appointments demonstrate its continued investment in technical excellence and client-focused delivery across the UK water sector.
