AECOM Opens New Hong Kong Office and Asia Headquarters

AECOM has officially opened its new Hong Kong office and Asia headquarters at 83 King Lam Street in Cheung Sha Wan. The new workplace brings together people, technology, and sustainability while strengthening the company’s presence across Asia.

The opening ceremony welcomed clients, partners, employees, and Jill Hudkins, Global Chief Executive of AECOM Advisory.

New Headquarters Strengthens AECOM’s Presence in Asia

The new office represents AECOM’s largest office investment in Asia. It also reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to Hong Kong as the city advances major infrastructure projects, including the Northern Metropolis and SKYTOPIA.

Ian Chung, Chief Executive of AECOM’s Asia region, said the headquarters reflects the company’s confidence in Hong Kong’s future. He added that the new workplace will improve collaboration, encourage innovation, and help AECOM continue supporting clients and communities across the region.

Workplace Designed for Collaboration and Innovation

The office spans approximately 126,000 gross square feet across four floors. It follows AECOM’s Freedom to Grow framework, offering flexible workspaces for focused tasks, project delivery, hybrid meetings, and team collaboration.

Additionally, the headquarters includes client engagement areas, innovation hubs, and technology-enabled environments that encourage knowledge sharing and co-creation.

Smart Technology Supports Sustainable Operations

AECOM has integrated smart building technology throughout the workplace. A digital dashboard powered by IoT sensors monitors energy consumption and indoor air quality in real time. Consequently, employees can track sustainability performance more effectively.

Moreover, the company adopted circular economy principles during the relocation. More than 900 furniture items from its former Sha Tin office were donated to local schools and non-governmental organizations, reducing landfill waste while extending the products’ useful life.

Employee Wellbeing Remains a Priority

The new headquarters places strong emphasis on employee wellbeing. Activity-based workspaces encourage collaboration, idea sharing, and focused work throughout the day.

In addition, natural materials, green walls, planted dividers, bamboo finishes, and sustainable carpets create a healthier and more environmentally friendly workplace.

Office Showcases AECOM’s Engineering Expertise

The headquarters is located within 83 King Lam Street, a twin-tower commercial development where AECOM provided structural, geotechnical, and façade engineering services.

Furthermore, the project received recognition at the HKIE Structural Division Structural Excellence Award 2025, highlighting AECOM’s engineering capabilities and commitment to high-quality infrastructure.
