Balfour Beatty has invested £10 million in Pi Labs Fund IV, an early-stage venture capital fund focused on built environment technologies. The investment gives the infrastructure group earlier access to innovative startups that can improve productivity, safety, and project delivery.

Investment Drives Practical Innovation

The partnership will help Balfour Beatty discover and adopt emerging technologies sooner. The company will work with entrepreneurs across the UK, Europe, and North America to evaluate new solutions.

Pi Labs has invested in more than 100 startups across 15 countries since its launch. Now, Fund IV plans to support up to 50 early-stage companies with global growth ambitions.

The fund focuses on technologies such as:

  • Built environment innovation

Furthermore, Pi Labs connects startups with industry experts and major infrastructure companies to speed up commercialization.
