Belfast Grand Central Station shortlisted at the National Federation of Builders Awards

The National Federation of Builders has revealed the shortlist for the Construction Awards of Excellence 2025.

We are thrilled to announce that our Joint Venture, Farrans Sacyr, has been shortlisted for three awards for the Belfast Grand Central Station project: Excellence in Sustainable Construction, Health, Safety and Wellbeing Excellence, and Inspiring Infrastructure Project.

Due to the highly specialised nature of the Inspiring Infrastructure category Farrans Sacyr has been shortlisted in a category which, this year, received no other qualifying submissions. In recognition of its outstanding contribution, this joint venture has therefore been recognised as the sole shortlisted finalist for Belfast Grand Central Station.

Belfast Grand Central Station, constructed by Farrans Sacyr for our client Translink, stands as the largest fully integrated transport hub on the island of Ireland.

Opened in September 2024 it will accommodate 20 million passenger journeys annually. The station is already making a significant impact by promoting increased public transport usage and helping to reduce air pollution, contributing to a cleaner and greener city and region.

We are looking forward to attending the Construction Awards of Excellence ceremony on 6th November at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.
