CNH to Roll Out Emissions Software Updates to Reduce Equipment Downtime

CNH will begin rolling out CNH emissions software updates in the fourth quarter of 2026. The updates will give customers more time to address certain emissions-system faults.

The company said the changes align with updated guidance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The updates aim to reduce avoidable downtime during critical operating periods.

More Time for Repairs

The revised software will give operators more time to plan and complete repairs before certain engine derates occur.

As a result, customers can manage emissions-system issues with fewer disruptions. CNH will first introduce the updates for priority products in Q4 2026.

The rollout will then expand to additional applications throughout 2027. Initial updates will focus on high-horsepower agricultural equipment.

Flexible Software Installation

Customers with a CNH Electronic Service Tool subscription will be able to install available updates themselves.

Meanwhile, CNH dealers can also support installation remotely or at the customer’s location. This approach gives owners more flexibility when managing service needs.

“Customers have been clear: they need solutions that help them stay productive,” said Scott Harris, President North America at CNH.

He added that the updates will provide more flexibility when operators address emissions-system issues. The company also expects the changes to support equipment performance and reliability.

CNH will continue adding product families to the software rollout throughout 2027. The company said the updates form part of its focus on practical solutions that help customers keep farms and jobsites operating.
