Jacobs to Support Transportation Improvements Along Atlanta’s I-285 Corridor

Jacobs will provide construction engineering and inspection services for transportation improvements along Atlanta’s I-285 corridor. The work will support roadway, bridge and safety upgrades across Fulton and Cobb counties.

Supporting Construction Along I-285

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) selected Jacobs to provide construction engineering and inspection services in District 7.

The program will advance improvements along one of Georgia’s busiest transportation corridors. These upgrades aim to strengthen mobility, improve safety and support reliable travel across the Atlanta region.

Jacobs brings more than two decades of experience supporting GDOT programs. As a result, the team will help manage construction activities while limiting disruption for travelers and local communities.

Through construction oversight, quality management and coordination, Jacobs will support the delivery of critical transportation infrastructure.

Using Data to Manage Traffic

Jacobs will use data-driven traffic analysis to support construction planning and improve mobility during project delivery.

The team will use StreetLight to assess travel patterns and help optimize construction staging, lane closures and detour routes. In addition, the approach combines traffic data with Jacobs’ field experience to support safer and more efficient construction operations.

By studying traffic patterns, the team can identify potential congestion impacts and adjust construction activities accordingly. This approach will help maintain mobility across the busy I-285 corridor.

Improving Infrastructure Resilience

The program also focuses on infrastructure resilience and responsible construction practices. Jacobs will apply its experience with stormwater management, erosion control and environmental compliance.

These measures will support construction while helping protect surrounding communities and the environment.
