Jacobs Leads Data Center Project for Hut 8 in Louisiana

Jacobs (NYSE: J) has been appointed by Hut 8 (NASDAQ: HUT), a leading energy infrastructure platform, to deliver Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the River Bend AI data center in Louisiana. The project represents a major advancement in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure in North America.

The River Bend facility is secured under a 15-year lease valued at $7.0 billion and will provide 245 megawatts of IT capacity. It serves as the anchor for a larger planned campus that is expected to become one of the largest AI and high-performance computing developments on the continent. The site benefits from power-dense utility infrastructure designed to support reliable, scalable, and high-quality energy delivery for large-scale data center operations.

Jacobs Chair and CEO Bob Pragada highlighted the firm’s experience in delivering complex facilities, noting that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to setting new standards for AI infrastructure through disciplined execution, safety, and quality.

Hut 8 CEO Asher Genoot emphasized the importance of execution rigor at this scale, stating that Jacobs’ EPCM role supports a partnership-driven model aimed at reducing delivery risk and establishing a repeatable framework for future developments across Hut 8’s broader pipeline.

The initial data hall at the River Bend data center is scheduled for completion and commissioning in the first quarter of 2027, with additional data halls planned to come online throughout the remainder of the year.

The appointment further strengthens Jacobs’ growing data center portfolio. The company is currently delivering EPCM services for multiple high-performance and AI-focused facilities globally, including large-scale renewable-powered campuses and advanced computing projects. The River Bend project reinforces Jacobs’ position as a key partner in developing next-generation, high-density, and scalable digital infrastructure across North America.
