Johnson Controls Connected Sprinkler service offers a smarter approach to fire safety

MILWAUKEE, June 17, 2025 – Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), the global leader for smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, today relaunched its Connected Sprinkler service, which provides real-time insights and predictive maintenance to help save facility managers and building owners time and money.

This service uses digitally enabled solutions, to enhance fire safety throughout the building lifecycle by providing data-driven maintenance information.

“With the continued evolution of our Connected Sprinkler service, we’re not only improving the service experience but also helping to save our customers time and money,” said Dustin Teske, Portfolio Leader, Digital Fire Offerings at Johnson Controls. “By integrating advanced technologies, we’re enhancing system reliability by equipping stakeholders and service technicians with the tools they need to make proactive maintenance decisions.”

Designed to be hardware agnostic, Connected Sprinkler service integrates with any existing sprinkler system and identifies data insights from indicators including water presence, temperature and pressure. Facility managers can proactively identify maintenance needs, and according to the Department of Energy’s Operations & Maintenance Best Practices Guide, reduce downtime by up to 40% by shifting from reactive to predictive maintenance.

System issues are categorized into three priority levels to help avoid disruptive, costly system failures. If dips in performance are detected, frequent alerts are communicated, helping to ensure a rapid response and minimize downtime. Real-time notifications are sent for adverse conditions such as freezing pipes, pressure imbalances and water presence.

The technology identifies recurring trends and issues over days, weeks and months, forming a baseline for maintenance decision-making. Rather than waiting for annual, biannual or quarterly inspections to identify maintenance needs, facility managers unlock real-time insight into system performance.

Johnson Controls is building upon its passion to build smarter and safer tomorrows with the evolution of Connected Fire Service by providing facility managers with data-driven insights to support and augment traditional fire protection methods.
