Liebherr-Aerospace and Finnair have signed a long-term service agreement for Airbus A350 nose landing gear overhaul work.
The maintenance program will begin in 2026 and continue through 2034.
Liebherr Secures Finnair Airbus A350 Overhaul Agreement
Under the agreement, Liebherr-Aerospace will overhaul nose landing gear systems for Finnair’s Airbus A350 fleet.
The company will carry out all overhaul activities at its facility in Lindenberg, Germany.
Liebherr-Aerospace developed and manufactured the Airbus A350 nose landing gear system as the original equipment manufacturer.
The Lindenberg facility also serves as Liebherr’s center of competence for landing gear systems, flight controls, electronics, gears, and gearboxes.
Aviation Industry Enters New Landing Gear Overhaul Cycle
Alex Vlielander said the aviation industry is entering a new global landing gear overhaul cycle.
Airlines and maintenance providers are now planning long-term overhaul schedules and securing maintenance slots for widebody aircraft fleets.
The agreement strengthens the partnership between Liebherr-Aerospace and Finnair. It also highlights growing demand for specialized maintenance, repair, and overhaul services in the commercial aviation sector.
Airbus A350 Fleet Support Market Expands
The Airbus A350 continues to play a major role in long-haul international aviation. As fleets mature, airlines increasingly require heavy maintenance support for critical aircraft systems.
OEM-linked maintenance agreements are becoming more important as carriers focus on operational reliability, lifecycle management, and fleet efficiency.
The deal also supports Liebherr-Aerospace’s position in the global aerospace aftermarket and aircraft component overhaul market.
