Liebherr Hands Over First Wheeled Excavators to Kubota
Liebherr has handed over the first machines from its new wheeled excavator range to strategic partner Kubota. The handover marks an important step in the companies’ joint product development.
The machines were delivered during an official visit to Liebherr Hydraulikbagger GmbH. Representatives from both companies also toured the new production line at Liebherr’s Kirchdorf an der Iller site.
New Wheeled Excavator Production Line
Liebherr built a dedicated production line for the new range at its founding site in Germany. The line operates within the existing factory buildings.
The production line makes four compact wheeled excavators. These include the Liebherr A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact. It also produces the Kubota KW095 and KW115 models.
The machines cover the nine- and eleven-tonne classes. A dedicated production setup supports efficient processes and short lead times.
Strategic Partnership
The partnership combines the strengths of Liebherr and Kubota. Liebherr contributes its experience in wheeled excavators and manufacturing quality.
Meanwhile, Kubota provides its high-performance engine technology. The cooperation creates new opportunities for both companies and their customers.
For Liebherr, the project marks its first move into nine- and eleven-tonne wheeled excavators. For Kubota, it introduces wheeled excavators to its product range for the first time.
Design Awards
The new machines have also received major design recognition. The Liebherr A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact, along with the Kubota KW095 and KW115, won the iF DESIGN AWARD.
In addition, the four models received the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award. The award represents the highest distinction in the Red Dot Design Award.
During the handover ceremony, Liebherr presented the award certificates to Kubota representatives. The event highlighted the growing cooperation between the two companies.
