MGX UK Crane Service: Reliability and Trust

MGX UK Strengthens Crane Support Across Britain

MGX Equipment Services is strengthening crane support across the United Kingdom. The company is using technical expertise, fast parts access and experienced field technicians to help crane owners reduce downtime.

Field service engineer Matthew Dickenson is a key part of the team. He has 13 years of experience in the crane industry.

Matthew specializes in diagnostics and troubleshooting. He responds to service calls, identifies technical issues and helps customers return their equipment to operation.

His work covers Manchester, Liverpool, North Wales and surrounding areas. His technical knowledge has also helped him build long-term relationships with crane customers.

Experience Drives Faster Troubleshooting

Matthew says customer trust is central to his role. He often guides engineers over the phone when immediate support is needed.

When an issue requires on-site assistance, he travels to the customer’s location. He also works through unfamiliar problems until he finds a solution.

Matthew is part of the newly established MGX UK team. The operation launched in July to provide service, parts and customer support across the United Kingdom.

MGX UK supports multi-brand mobile crane owners, contractors and rental companies. The company operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of The Manitowoc Company.

Supporting Cranes of All Brands

Crane technology has changed significantly in recent years. Modern machines rely heavily on electronics, software and data-driven diagnostics.

Older cranes often depend more on mechanical systems. This means technicians need experience with both traditional and modern equipment.

MGX UK invests in technician training and certifications. The team also places strong emphasis on practical experience and collaboration.

Technicians share knowledge and work together to solve complex problems. This approach helps the company respond to customers more effectively.

Fast Access to Parts

Reducing downtime is a major priority for Matthew and the MGX UK team. Service vehicles are stocked with commonly required parts.

This allows technicians to complete more repairs during their first visit. When a specific part is unavailable, the team works with its wider service network to source it quickly.

Parts can also be shipped overnight when necessary. This can help customers return their cranes to work the following morning.

Technology Helps Reduce Downtime

Modern diagnostic technology is another important part of MGX UK’s service strategy.

Grove mobile cranes can use telematics systems such as Grove CONNECT™. These systems provide access to crane data and operating history.

Technicians can use this information to diagnose problems more efficiently. In some cases, they can resolve issues remotely without visiting the jobsite.

Matthew recalled one incident involving a customer working inside a factory. Jobsite restrictions prevented a video call.

Instead, he accessed the crane’s operating system through its telematics system. He reviewed the available information and resolved the issue remotely.

Expanding MGX Equipment Services in Europe

The UK operation is MGX Equipment Services’ first European location. It builds on the company’s established operations in the United States.

MGX Equipment Services provides a range of equipment solutions. These include new and used equipment sales, crane rentals, OEM parts, field service and repairs.

The company also offers remanufacturing services and crane certification training. Its UK operation is designed to provide similar expertise and support to crane owners across Britain.

With facilities in Buckingham and Barnsley, service vans and an extensive parts inventory, MGX UK aims to help customers improve crane uptime, productivity and long-term equipment value.
