Roboticom 400th Robot SandRob Installation Milestone

Roboticom 400th Robot SandRob Installation Milestone

United States —Roboticom has reached a major milestone with the installation of its 400th robotic system worldwide. The system, a SandRob robotic sanding and finishing solution, has been delivered to Balanced Body, a global leader in premium Pilates equipment and training.

Milestone Installation Strengthens Ongoing Partnership

Notably, this marks Balanced Body’s second SandRob system, reinforcing a partnership focused on scaling production while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship.

Balanced Body is known for its precision-crafted wooden equipment, which features smooth curves, clean edges, and a refined finish.
However, achieving this level of quality has traditionally required intensive manual sanding by skilled workers.

As demand increased, maintaining both quality and production speed became a growing challenge.

Automation Supports Craftsmanship, Not Replaces It

To address this, Balanced Body introduced SandRob in 2022 to automate the most physically demanding tasks.

Today:

  • SandRob handles heavy sanding of complex wood components
  • Skilled workers perform the final finishing touches

As a result, the company has improved efficiency without losing its handcrafted quality.

Ken Endelman, CEO of Balanced Body, said the system delivered both consistency and higher throughput while maintaining the premium finish customers expect.

Measured Gains in Productivity and Efficiency

Importantly, the impact of automation has been significant:

  • 70% reduction in sanding labor time on key products
  • 30% increase in production throughput
  • No reduction in workforce

Therefore, the company has been able to scale operations without increasing strain on workers.

Industry Shift Toward Smart Automation

According to Joe Soto, CEO of Epica International, this milestone reflects a broader trend in manufacturing.

He emphasized that automation does not replace craftsmanship.
Instead, it removes repetitive and physically demanding tasks, allowing skilled workers to focus on detail-oriented work that defines product quality.

Growing Role of Robotics in Finishing Processes

More broadly, Roboticom’s expansion to over 400 systems highlights the increasing demand for automation in finishing and material processing, which are often the most labor-intensive stages in manufacturing.

As adoption grows, companies are turning to robotics to:

  • Improve consistency and precision
  • Reduce physical workload on employees
  • Maintain quality at scale

Outlook

Overall, the milestone demonstrates how robotics can support both efficiency and craftsmanship in modern manufacturing.

Looking ahead, Roboticom is expected to expand further in industries where surface finishing remains complex and critical.
