Skanska to Build USD 256M Data Center in the USA

Skanska, a leading global construction company, has signed a major contract to develop a new data center in the United States. The contract is valued at USD 256 million, which is approximately SEK 2.5 billion, and will be officially recorded in Skanska’s U.S. order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2025.

The project includes the construction of a modern data center facility, covering both the building shell and the full interior setup. This will involve the development of technical spaces for digital equipment, support areas, and office functions. The facility is expected to serve as a high-tech hub for data storage, cloud services, and digital operations.

Construction work is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026, with completion expected in the third quarter of 2027. The project is anticipated to create employment opportunities and contribute to digital infrastructure development in the region.

With the rising demand for data processing and storage driven by cloud computing and AI technologies, this project highlights Skanska’s expertise in large-scale and high-tech construction. The data center will play a vital role in strengthening the U.S. digital ecosystem and supporting future innovation.
